Anatomy of Tincture
Tinctures or extracts are condensed plant compounds presenting specific benefits to human body when consumed. Like any living organisms, plants have developed defense system to fight free radicals, toxins, bacteria and viruses over the period of 390 million years of their evolution. They exists in the plant in the form of secondary metabolites and many are extremely beneficial for humans, providing straightening benefits and building resistance inside out, from any harmful outside elements.
One of the most effective ways to extract those compounds from the plants is to use traditional method by steeping fresh or dry plant matter in alcohol for 6 to 8 weeks. Alcohol is the strongest extractor in the process and guarantiues high potency of the final product.
In my production I am using not only organic plant material from reliable source, but 100 proof organic grain alcohol, which gives the process full benefit of effective extraction.
So where do I get my herbs, you may ask? This is honestly my research of probably more than a year. There are many suppliers in the United States, some grow and harvest locally, some import herbs from other countries.
My first goal was NOT to harm the environment. You may or may not know, but certain herbs, due to their popularity and demand, are over harvested, damaging its ability to regrow. I wanted to be sure, that if I commit to sustainable and responsible production, so do my suppliers.
And my last condition was to chose the supplier, which has also reliable and organic sources of their harvested herbs in different countries. Not all herbs can be grown in The United States. Some require high altitudes and specific soil to exist and live. Making sure the out of the country farm is committed to the same goal of sustainability and purity of the herb was extremely important.
With this in mind I was able to create strong base for my final product and full support of my business partners. I hope to be visiting them in the nearest future and create video blog, so be on the look for new blog posts.
